Today we're gonna take a look at this HydraStar disc brake kit, has the electric over hydraulic brake actuator and it's for triple 7,000 pound axles trailers, has an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this is a nice all-inclusive kit. It'll have everything you need to switch your trailer are over to disc brakes for improved performance and greater stopping power. Just to go through the pieces, it'll give you six disc brake end kits, and those end kits will include the hub and rotor assemblies. They have the 9/16 diameter wheel studs and also the pre-installed bearing races, comes with the bearings and the grease seal also, comes with the caliper. more

Now these hydraulic drum brake assemblies are designed for use with a surge type trailer brake actuator. And as you can see in the both of these assemblies, the parking brake lever is included, and a manual parking brake can be added with the optional kit. That is sold separately, and you can find that on our website using item number T2385200. That is if your trailer is not already equipped with a manual parking brake kit. more

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Kodiak E-coat disc brake kit with 11 inch rotors and 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern for 10,000 pound AL-KO axles. Now these brake assemblies make it easy to change from an idler axle to a disc brake axle. Disc brakes will deliver better performance than drum brakes. It gives you more consistent stopping, even at highway speeds, and also dramatically shorter stopping distances. Maintenance costs are lower than for drum brakes because you have fewer moving parts that you have to maintain, repair, or replace. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit with the 12 inch Dacromet slip-on rotors, has a 6 on 5 1/2 half inch bolt pattern, and these are for the 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound axles. Now, these are marine-grade brake assemblies, which makes it very easy to change from a drum to a disc brake system for a better performance on your trailer. The disc brakes will deliver better performance than drum brakes, because they'll be more consistent at stopping even at highway speeds and dramatically shorter stopping distances. Also, the maintenance costs are lower than for drum brakes, offers fewer moving parts to maintain, repair, or replace. Now, this kit here will include everything I got here on the table, it includes two full brake assemblies, we'll start with the two Dacromet coated cast iron slip-on rotors, the two KodaGuard coated calipers with the ceramic brake pads installed, comes with the four stainless steel mounting bolts for the calipers, and then also, with the Dacromet coated caliper mounting brackets. more

Now, these hydraulic drum brake assemblies are designed for use with surge-type trailer brake actuators. These assemblies are a dual plunger design, and by that we mean, if you look at the wheel cylinder, they have a plunger coming out of each side. So, that dual plunger design will deliver the same amount of braking when driving either forward or in reverse. more

Also the maintenance costs are lower than for drum brakes, because you have fewer moving parts to maintain repair or replace.Now, this kit will include everything I got laid out here on the table. It's two full brake assemblies, so they get the two E-coated cast iron slip on rotors, the two E-coated cast iron calipers, the two E-coated ductile iron caliper mounting brackets, and then the four stainless steel caliper mounting bolts.If you notice all these parts have an E-coat finish on them, the calipers, the brackets provides a nice corrosion resistance for freshwater and limited saltwater use. more

This is what our brake assembly is going to look like, when it's installed. These are going to be great for your marine applications, like we have here. They're going to have a decrement finish on them, which is going to be a lot more durable than just your powder-coated finish. It's really going to hold up well against rust and corrosion. Our cylinder here, this is going to have an aluminum finish. So again, being aluminum finish, it's really going to hold up against rust and corrosion. more

Hi there, safety-conscious haulers. Today we're going to be taking a look at Hydrastar's electric over hydraulic disc brake kit for tandem axles. This is a tandem axle kit. So it's going to provide you with everything that you'll need to get two axles set up and switched over from your old electronic brakes to your hydraulic disc brakes.This includes your rotors and bearings to get those on, your calipers and caliper mounting brackets, that will go where your old backing plate was for your drum brake set up. In addition to that, you're also going to receive your hydraulic lines and hoses, and all the fittings necessary to get all of the plumbing and fluid routed to each caliper. Each of your calipers will come loaded with brake pads, so they're already going to be in place ready to slide onto your rotor when you get it on. more

So our Kodiak disc brake kit here features a two piece design. Now what's two paced design means is that the rotor is going to be separate from the idler hub. And normally the rotor and idler hub are actually going to be combined in one. I prefer this two piece design here because it's going to make it a lot more cost effective to replace something if it goes wrong. more

Today on our trailer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com electric trailer brake kit.So, these brakes are going to be a great factory style replacement. Now the biggest difference between these and some of the other styles on the market, is these are not going to be automatic adjusting.So what that means is, every now and again, every few years you might have to get under the trailer and spend a couple of minutes adjusting your brakes. And you would adjust it using the star wheel. Now, all this won't have to come off to do that, there's actually a little opening in the back to make that adjustment. We're just showing you like this, that way you have a better idea of how it looks.Our pads are going to be made from automotive grade friction material, and they're going to be fully bonded to our shoe. more

Dexter Electric Brake Assembly Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Dexter Electric Brake Assembly for 4 Bolt or 5 Bolt Flanges for the right hand side and 6000 lbs axles. It is also available for the left hand side as well as a set.So here's what our electric brake assembly's going to look like once we have it installed. So, obviously, we have the wheel and the hub removed so you can see everything but the entire assembly's going to be a lot easier to install rather than having to just replace the shoes. We're not going to have to worry about dealing with the springs and remembering exactly how everything goes together because it's going to go on as a whole assembly.Our brake assembly's going to be a 12 by 2" brake assembly so it's going to fit wheels from 14-1/2 up to 16". It is designed to work with 6000 lbs axles. Now most hub and drum assemblies are going to be either using or a 4 or a 5-bolt design. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit, designed for use with 12 inch brake assemblies and it includes the left and right hand side. Now these brake assemblies are designed to give us excellent stopping power. All it's going to require from our truck is a brake controller. I like electric brakes over hydraulic brakes in utility applications because you don't have to worry about leaks and different stuff like that.These assemblies are going to replace the entire brake kit, so you're not going to have to worry about hardware, your springs being worn out, your magnet being worn out, or not properly connected. By getting a full assembly like this, you can replace absolutely everything, every piece of hardware, you don't have to worry about premature failure. Now in the kit, you'll get a left hand assembly, says it right here, "Left hand," and a right hand assembly.The left hand goes on the driver's side, right hand's going to go on the passenger side, just to give you a heads up. more

They're available for the driver's side and the passenger side, or as a kit with both. They come in weight ratings of 3,000 pounds, 3,500 pounds, or 4,400 pounds. That's going to depend on which axle you have on your trailer.One of our customers, Paul, wrote in, "What is the difference between the 3,500 and 4,400 assembly and how do I know which axle I have on my trailer" Well that's easy, Paul. Speaker 1: Today we'll be having a look at the Titan disc brake assembly with a 13 inch hub and rotor assembly, eight on six and a half bolt pattern, with a dacromet finish, rated for 7000 pounds. This is part number THRCM13378DACEK. Here's what our brakes look like installed. Now this kit is a great option for you, because it has everything that you need in order to place one side of your axle brakes. You'll have a brand new rotor and hub assembly, a brand new loaded caliper, with your brake pads, and one thing that sets this apart from others is that this kit does come with new bearings and a seal, but it also comes with this bearing buddy here. Just take this cap off, and then this bearing buddy will force grease into your bearings so they're continuously greased as you're driving down the road, and that'll help reduce friction and heat and extend the service life between having to grease bearings.Now these brakes have a 7000 pound capacity, and they'll work with 7000 pound axles that have a five bolt mounting flange on them. more

A lot of boat applications, you're hauling a boat sometimes miles and miles and miles, and without brakes on your trailer, you put a lot of unnecessary stress and strain on your truck. A braking kit like this allows us to take the stress, the strain off the braking system on our truck but also gives us a safer ride.In this application we've got a surge coupler at the front of the trailer, so as the truck slows it applies the hydraulic fluid pressure, squeezing our caliper together giving us excellent stopping abilities. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the 10 inch Dexter Never Adjust electric trailer brake kit, for 3,500 pound axle, for the left and right hand side. It's going to be part number 23-468-469. It's also available individually for the left hand side using part number 23-468, and the right hand side, using part number 23-469. So here's what our brakes are going to look like once we have them installed. Now these are going to be a 10 inch diameter brake and be about 2-1/4 inches deep.Now one of the nicest things about these brakes is the fact that we're not going to have to adjust them, maybe the initial adjustment up front, but after that, they're going to be self adjusting. So wherever the brakes start wearing down, they're going to automatically adjust out, so they're at the right pressure. more

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the hydraulic brake kit U-Servo 00:00:02 free backing 12 inch left and right hand brake assemblies for five and a half thousand to seven thousand pounds. That's gonna be part number AKFBBRK-7.So here's what our brake assembly's gonna look like. The biggest benefit to our brake assembly here is that it is an entire assembly. We're not gonna have to worry about getting the hardware kit, a wheel cylinder, or anything else. As well as putting on the pads, they are hydraulic brake assemblies, which means they're gonna work with surge-type brake actuators.What's nice about these assemblies is that they have a free backing design. And what that means is, it's gonna let you back up without engaging the brakes, even if the actuator is activated.The fall-away brake shoe is only gonna anchor on the drum when the brakes are engaged, as the trailer is moving forward.The pads are gonna be fully bonded into the shoes and not riveted, which means that they're gonna give it a longer life and more of a bite on those brakes.The tapered edge at the bottom of our pad is gonna help prevent any kind of cracking and crumbling that can lead to a mechanical lock-up.Our brake assemblies are gonna have a fine tooth adjustment gear, and that's gonna allow us to fine tune our brakes, but it is a manual adjustment, so we are gonna have to check our brakes and adjust them periodically.There is gonna be a plug on the back that's gonna help keep out all the dirt and debris from getting inside, and this is right where we're gonna make our adjustments at.Now, the mounting flange bolt pattern is gonna be a five bolt, and it's gonna fit wheels 14 1/2, 15, 16, and 16 1/2 inch.Our brake assembly is gonna work with axles that are rated at 5,200, 6,000, and 7,000 pounds.Now, this is gonna include the left and right hand assemblies, so to start out, we're gonna go ahead and remove our drums so we can pull off this cap. more

It includes the 10 inch by two and a quarter inch driver's side and passenger side electric trailer brake assemblies and the mounting hardware to install them.The brake shoes on these assemblies are lined with automotive grade friction material.
